How does promo code work
Promo codes are optional for every reward. They are useful when enforcing limitations on use and tracking redemption of rewards.
Rewards associated with promo codes should be specific, such as "Free dessert with dinner" or "50% off on your birthday". We strongly discourage use of vague rewards such as "A special offer on your birthday". Customers should know clearly what they're getting.
Promo codes work differently depending on whether you have an online store or a brick and mortar store.
You need to create your own promo code and enter the same code in your shopping cart as well as Birthday Club. The shopping cart you use should track usage and enforce any limitations, such as use once per email or expiration date. Birthday Club simply sends that code out to your customers. It does not enforce usage limits or track redemptions.
You can use different codes for signup, birthday and monthly rewards.
Brick and Mortar Store
You don't need to create your own promo code but can if you wish to. If you don't enter a promo code we generate a unique code for every customer.reward email that is sent out. This code will be used to track redemption of rewards and track customer visits in future when that feature is added in a future release.
